Random Pictures III

The cargo that can go in the back of a truck can also include humans. This is a pretty light load, I haven't had my camera ready for some of the more insane overloaded trucks, though I'm sure I'll snap one soon.

There was a "carnival" that came to Kitgum for a few days. This ride looked like it was made in soviet Russia or something and I half expected one of the chairs to fly off into the abyss when it started. Against all odds, no one died in the three days of operation. In case you're wondering, the fee for the ride was UGX1,000 (about $.40)

This is some strange variation of mancala, played by some villagers. The pieces they used are a combination of old nuts and bolts, and stone.

Getting ready for a bbq! Cutting up pig and selling it for UGX 6,000/kg (about $1.10/lb).

Ana is invited to try completely fresh milk. It tasted a bit bland and was very chunky. The villagers amusement was directly proportional to her hesitation and uncertainty.

Inside a crudely made structure in a village, with the sun shining.

Many of you may know the scientific concept of mutualism, but I wonder how many of you have seen this demonstrated with a chicken pecking away at the coat of a placid canine.

Ah, life as a child in a rural Uganda village. I think it's safe to say that they can all use some clothes and shoes.

I'm not sure if you can increase the size of this picture, but I found this boy's pants to be quite interesting. The only part of his body that should theoretically be covered is in fact, hanging...or dangling, out there for everyone to see.

A huge futbol competition between two rival high schools.

This woman was very drunk and decided that dancing would be the appropriate action while Ana attempted to conduct interviews.
