I was much more excited for a boat trip on the Nile. We were
staying at the Red Chili Guesthouse, which was a great accommodation in the
national park. They had a resident warthog which was nearly domesticated, as
well as hippos that grazed through the camp at night. It was located a few
kilometers from the river so we arranged for a boat to take us about 25km to the
bottom of Murchison Falls. I was looking forward to the steady nature of the
boat compared to sitting in a jeep on dirt roads, as well as the opportunity to
see the life on the river.
The boat turned out to be a great success with plenty of
animals and birds visible from the boat. We even got approached by some curious
hippos! The animals were far less disturbed by our presence than they were on
land. Cruising down the river was relaxing and once again, I’ll let the
pictures do the talking!

I find it alarming that crocodiles sit with their mouths open; it's like they are ready to eat you at any moment. |

This elephant had just finished a nice swim. |

Hippos look so mischievous when they are peeping out of the water, agreed? |
